State Police Crime Lab Groundbreaking
It was a pleasure to join our state and local partners last month at the groundbreaking for the brand-new, state-of-the-art Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab in Marlborough. We are so excited for this $200M project to be underway, thanks to the City Council and Mayor for seeing the value in approving the 20-year TIF that will support the 200,000 square-foot facility and the creation of over 300 jobs here in the city.

Metro West Regional Fan Zone!
In collaboration with the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Metro West Chamber, Metro West Boston Visitors Bureau, Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, and the City of Marlborough, we successfully pulled off three fun-filled days of the Marlborough Fan Zone! With food from local vendors, inflatables, games, and activations, it was definitely a weekend to remember.
Huge thank you to all of the Marlborough City Departments who worked tirelessly to make sure the event was a success. From police and fire, the Board of Health, facilities, DPW, and everyone in between, this event would not have been possible without you.

Splash into Summer Returned!
The Marlborough Downtown Village Association kicked off summer for the second year in a row at City Hall Plaza with water slides, live music, games, local vendors and more! Thank you to everyone who participated, making it a great day, well enjoyed by all.
Once again we'd like to thank the city and specifically the Rec Department for their hard work to make this a success.

Marlborough Celebrates 250 Years of America!
Thanks to the dedication of the Revolution 250 Committee, volunteers, local organizations, and community partners, the landmark celebration honored the city's Revolutionary War heritage with a patriotic parade, historical reenactments, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities, bringing thousands together for a once-in-a-generation tribute to America's 250th anniversary.

MEDC Recognized on Central MA Power 100 List
MEDC's Executive Director Meredith Harris was recognized for the third year in a row by the Worcester Business Journal for the Central Massachusetts Power 100 List. This continued recognition is a true testament to her leadership and dedication to the City of Marlborough.
MEDC Board Member Mike Covino of Niche Hospitality Group was also recognized on this list for his outstanding efforts in the hospitality industry.

Results of The 495/MetroWest Partnership 2026 Employer Survey!
The survey represents a collaborative effort between the 495/MetroWest Partnership and Framingham State University's MetroWest Economic Research Center (MERC). Conducted for the 13th year running in 2026, this survey has proven an important tool in gauging business confidence in the 495/MetroWest region. The survey focuses on employers with physical plants located in the 495/MetroWest region, defined as the 37 cities and towns served by the 495/MetroWest Partnership.

State Invests in Business Expansion with $52M in Tax Credits
The Massachusetts Economic Assistance Coordinating Council has awarded more than $52 million in Economic Development Incentive Program tax credits to support 11 business expansion projects across the Commonwealth. The investments are expected to create 2,793 new jobs, retain more than 1,500 existing positions, and generate over $1.4 billion in private investment.

Proposed Forest Street Residential District Receives Favorable Recommendation from Urban Affairs Committee
RedGate Real Estate Advisors, LLC, presented in front of the Urban Affairs Committee on June 17th to create a new overlay zoning district that would allow for mixed-use on the site. The proposed zoning received a favorable recommendation out of Committee and will be in front of the full City Council for a vote on July 21st.

Greatland Realty Partners Receives Council Approval for an Amendment to their Zoning
Greatland Realty Partners also received a favorable recommendation from the Urban Affairs Committee on May 27th and received final approval from the City Council on June 8th to amend their existing zoning overlay to allow for 400 residential units.
