MEDC Joins Cyber Camp Students in Boston
MEDC joined Technium, MassHire, and Marlborough Public Schools for a visit to The Markley Group in Boston where students participating in Technium's Cyber Camp, a work-based learning initiative created through a partnership between the Marlborough IT company and MPS, had the opportunity to see first-hand the daily operations of the Boston-based telecommunications and data center. |

MEDC Seeks Marlborough Artists for Union Common Project
MEDC is in search of Marlborough-based artists to participate in the Union Common Stage Public Art Project. This initiative is geared towards showcasing the cityโs landscapes and landmarks on panels that will surround the Union Common Stage footings.
Artists can submit up to five designs by Tuesday, March 25 and applications are available here. Winners will be announced on April 9.

Marlborough Hospital Announces Upcoming Expansion Plans
We are excited to see the proposed expansion of UMass Memorial-Marlborough Hospital and happy to see the continued investment in both our community and the level of care at this site.
The hospital recently shared it intends to upgrade the existing Emergency Department, build a new multidisciplinary clinic, purchase a more sophisticated Spectral Computed Technology (CT) system, expand the UMass Memorial Medical Center medical license to include Marlborough Hospital, and acquire a proton beam machine in order to offer proton therapy.

Sartorius Named Winner of MassEcon Impact Award
Congratulations to Sartorius, a Marlborough-based global leader in biopharmaceutical technology, for being named a 2025 MassEcon Impact Award winner.
Sartorius was selected based on several factors, including facility expansion and investment, job growth, commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity initiatives.

Picco Opening New Location in Downtown Marlborough
News has been spreading throughout Marlborough as Boston-based Picco is expanding its brand with a new location in the city's Downtown Village District.
Slated to open this spring, Picco is transforming the former Santander Bank building at 179 Main Street into Marlborough's latest dining experience, which will include pizza, homemade ice cream, pasta dishes and salads. |

Boston Scientific has been named a recipient of the 2025 Supply Chain Award for People Breakthrough by Gartner.

Three Marlborough Hospital Physicians Named to Boston Magazine's "Top Doctors List"
Three doctors from UMass Memorial-Marlborough Hospital were recently named to Boston Magazineโs Annual Top Doctors List. The publication compiles the annual list of healthcare providers from throughout the state, which is determined by their peers.

Lost Shoe Co-Owner Named Massachusetts Brewers Guild President
Congratulations to JP Gallagher, co-owner of Marlborough-based Lost Shoe Brewing and Roasting Company, on being named the new president of the Massachusetts Brewers Guild (MBG).
The guild promotes craft brewing throughout the Commonwealth and advocates for craft brewers within the state government.

New Businesses Welcome to Marlborough
We're excited to see more businesses coming to our city, including Graze Craze on Boston Post Road East. As the first Massachusetts location, Graze Craze is serving up signature charcuterie boards as well as its infamous "Grazing Tables" for large events.
Bach to Rock and Rockland Trust have also both opened their first Marlborough-based locations.

With the purchase of the India-based company, which specializes in high-performing wireless communication solutions, ConnectM hopes to improve its two-way communication between smart meters and utility companies.

MassDevelopment, Mass Growth Capital Corporation Merges
The merger is a result of the Mass Leads Act, which was signed by Governor Maura Healy in 2024, and aims to streamline the approach both organizations have on supporting the Commonwealth's business community. |

Community One Stop For Growth
The Community One Stop For Growth has announced its single application process for 12 of the Commonwealth's most well known economic development and housing grant programs.
Communities can submit an Expression of Interest to One Stop by March 26.

City Council Holds Public Hearing For Marijuana Ordinance
A public hearing was held at the February 24th Marlborough City Council meeting regarding a zoning amendment for marijuana testing facilities in the city.
The amendment would increase the number of independent testing laboratories allowed to operate in Marlborough to four facilities. The current ordinance allows for one laboratory.
This item will now be brought to the Urban Affairs Committee. |

Public Hearing Held for New McDonald's Location Drive-Thru
A public hearing was held on February 24th at the The Marlborough City Council meeting to discuss a special permit for a drive-thru planned at the city's newest McDonald's restaurant, which will be located at 735 Boston Post Road East.
The item is now in front of the Urban Affairs Committee for review.

Marlborough Revolution 250 Hosts Historical Exhibit at MPL
The Marlborough Revolution 250 Committee showcased the second segment of it's three-part exhibit at the Marlborough Public Library to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. The exhibit featured rare and unique artifacts that depicted the city and country's "Road to Independence."
The final installment will be March 27 at 10am-7pm and March 28-29 at 10am-4pm.

Local Non-Profit Hosts 8th Annual Addition Awareness 5K
Marlborough-based Team Sharing Inc. has announced it will be hosting it's eighth annual Remembering Our Angels 5K on Saturday, May 10.
The annual event puts advocacy into action, raising awareness of addiction and showing support of individuals and families affected by the loss of loved ones.
