495/Metrowest Partnership
495/Metrowest Partnership recently released their annual Employer Survey!
The survey represents a collaborative effort between the 495/MetroWest Partnership and Framingham State University's MetroWest Economic Research Center (MERC). Over the past decade, the survey has proven to be an important tool in gauging business confidence in the 495/MetroWest region. Now being conducted for the 11th year running, the survey is an opportunity for our region’s employers to communicate concerns and challenges, which can guide policymakers in considering needed changes and investments. The survey is also an important tool in forecasting future growth by regional employers, and in identifying warning signs of challenges to come.

Donald Lynch Boulevard Re-Zoning
The City Council Urban Affairs Committee recently reviewed a 2021 Visioning Plan for the Donald Lynch Boulevard corridor. The purpose of rezoning Donald Lynch Boulevard is to enhance land use development and strengthen the vitality of the district by encouraging uses, activities, and improvements that will complement the existing assets.
Each new investment should be viewed as an opportunity to complement existing uses, add new destinations and attractions, and strengthen a district that provides a variety of compelling reasons to visit, whether it be to work, shop, play, or live.

Mass Leads Act
Governor Healey filed the Mass Leads Act, her administration’s economic development bond bill that will strengthen Massachusetts’ global leadership in life sciences and launching game-changing investments in climatetech and applied artificial intelligence (AI). Yesterday, Governor Healey announced that the bill includes a 10-year reauthorization of the transformative Life Science Initiative, as well as a new 10-year investment in climatetech to compete in the emerging clean energy sector.
In addition to positioning Massachusetts as a global hub for these innovative sectors, the bill also proposes support for small businesses, rural communities, workforce development, and arts and culture.
This omnibus bill is central to a 10-year economic development strategy to execute the vision outlined in the administration’s 2023 economic development plan:
Team Massachusetts: Leading Future Generations.
