MARLBOROUGH CITY HAPPENINGS - FEBRUARY 2017

Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School and Marlborough High School were ranked among the 100 Best Public Schools in Massachusetts for 2017 by Niche.com.
Niche.com has ranked the City of Marlborough as the 15th Best Boston Suburb for Millennials, putting it among the top 10% of the Best American Suburbs for this generation.
Finance Committee members signed off on using about $600,000 in Chapter 90 state roadway money to offset the cost of the East Main Street reconstruction project.
The city is seeking Community Development Block Grant funds to reconstruct Sumner Street, create two pocket parks in French Hill and rehab blighted housing.

Hologic, a Marlborough women's health product company, is buying Westford medical products company Cynosure in a cash deal valued at $1.65 billion.
TJX, the parent of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods, could expand by 1,800 stores in the long term, the company's president said in an earnings call with reporters.
Boston Scientific generated $2.2 billion in sales in the fourth quarter and $124 million in earnings, and finished out 2016 with 12 percent revenue growth for the year.
