MARLBOROUGH CITY HAPPENINGS! - December 2016

A $3 million MassWorks grant awarded to the city this month will go toward work to help improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety along Rte. 20 near the new Apex Center.
A new mixed-use project will be coming to Main Street, as city councilors signed off on a developer’s plan to construct a six-story building that will house 32 condos and a restaurant.
Visitors to the planned Apex Center will be able to snack on ice cream treats and food, as the City Council gave the OK for a Friendly’s drive-thru restaurant at the development.
A proposal for the construction of a 104-bed assisted living facility moved forward, as city councilors approved a zoning amendment allowing the center to be built on Bolton Street.
The city’s unemployment rate dipped to 2.7 percent in September, the lowest mark in more than 15 years. The new rate marks a 33% decrease from the same time last year.
ReWalk Robotics, the Marlborough-based maker of the first publicly-available exoskeleton for paraplegics, announced a public stock-and-warrants offering of $12 million.
GE Healthcare Life Sciences, which recently moved its U.S. headquarters to Marlborough, will expand its single-use technology manufacturing facility in Westborough.
Marlborough-based medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific has finalized the $210-million acquisition of EndoChoice Holdings, Inc. in Georgia.
